Gifted Students AcademyLaunched in September 2010 the national Gifted Students Academy (GSA) works closely with secondary schools in England supporting their Gifted and Talented programme.
We work with year 8 - year 13 students to:
- Increase confidence and self-assuredness
- Work well in teams and leadership roles
- Identify personal goals
- Develop excellent communication and presentation skills
- Interact successfully with and take responsibility for their community
- Develop and put into use advanced learning techniques
- Create the aspirations and opportunity to achieve identified goals, including progressing to a Russell Group university
- In-school student workshops
- Providing ongoing support, guidance and coaching to G&T co-ordinators
- Access to an exclusive networking website with resources, discussion and shared expertise (coming later in 2011)
- A student portfolio of tools, guides and worksheets
- An annual Gifted and Talented Co-ordinators event, with opportunities to share expertise, develop new resources and approaches, access support and guidance
- Regular updates in developments in the world of Gifted and Talented education
