Gifted Students Academy

Launched in September 2010 the national Gifted Students Academy (GSA) works closely with secondary schools in England supporting their Gifted and Talented programme.

We work with year 8 - year 13 students to:

  • Increase confidence and self-assuredness
  • Work well in teams and leadership roles
  • Identify personal goals
  • Develop excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Interact successfully with and take responsibility for their community
  • Develop and put into use advanced learning techniques
  • Create the aspirations and opportunity to achieve identified goals, including progressing to a Russell Group university
This is achieved through:
  • In-school student workshops
  • Providing ongoing support, guidance and coaching to G&T co-ordinators
  • Access to an exclusive networking website with resources, discussion and shared expertise (coming later in 2011)
  • A student portfolio of tools, guides and worksheets
  • An annual Gifted and Talented Co-ordinators event, with opportunities to share expertise, develop new resources and approaches, access support and guidance
  • Regular updates in developments in the world of Gifted and Talented education
