The value of games

Games have a significant role to play in the training and education of both young people and adults. Used effectively games can be so much more than just tools for energising a group and getting to know each other. Treetop uses games as a way of empowering participants, and the group, in the space being used, relaxing those present and creating a dynamic atmosphere that will be beneficial to everyone's learning.

Treetop also uses games and physical activity to introduce and/or cement learning. The experience of the participants throughout the activity is used to elicit metaphors of the key input points for the relevant training session.  Also they're FUN!

Treetop Training is launching a new initiative early in 2011, Game Training.  Part of the work of this initiave will be training the trainers.  So whether you're a professional trainer, a youth worker, a community development officer, a teacher, a mental health group practitioner, or anyone that works with groups on personal and professional development 'Game training the trainers' can support you to develop the skills and knowledge to get the most out of games and experiential activity in your own training and group work.
