Treetop Training's Current Work and Projects

GameTrain

Launching in October 2010 GameTrain will support teams of professionals to work together effectively and for individuals to develop strategic thinking and communication skills that have fast become an essential part of the modern work environment.

With reduced budgets, smaller teams and stretched capacities it is now more important than ever to ensure that the people you work with have the skills to be adaptable and flexible, to have the confidence to take on new projects and roles, to anticipate and navigate hurdles, to think creatively and to support each other.

GameTrain events are unique, dynamic and engaging. We use an energetic mix of games and activities, reflecting on shared experiences and learning, exploring game theory and behavioural economics in order to support personal and professional development.

Gifted Students Academy (GSA)

With the slashing of central Gifted and Talented funding and the dismantling of the G&T education infra-structure this is an amazing opportunity to participate in a project that has grown out of the highly successful City Challenge GATES Progression Academy, (over 95% of all City GATES participants stated that their experience was 'very good' or 'good').

The Gifted Students Academy will continue this excellent work, giving support and guidance to your gifted students, providing them with an amazing set of skills, tools and models to help them to achieve their full potential; academically, socially & professionally.

The GSA is now seeking schools to particpate in it's launch project, 'Goals and Me' for Year 9 students. Shools will need to accommodate, on their premises, three days of workshop delivery during this summer term, take part in an evaluation and review process and provide 20 - 25 Year 9 students, (participants can be made up in partnership with cluster schools).

Schools will experience the full year 9 workshop delivery, plus have access to support and guidance via e-mail and telephone. During 2010/11 the GSA networking website will be launched and all final resources produced, these will also be made available to your school.

Please go to www.giftedstudents.co.uk for further information, or e-mail enquiries@giftedstudents.co.uk.

Effective communication in Schools

Exploring if and what disparity there may be between staff and young people in schools.  Posing the questions, "Do teachers and other staff really know the priorties and needs of the students in the schools?"

For those schools that display parity and understanding I explore with them how they have achieved and sustain this, and for those schools that don't, I aim to support them to develop more effective and open structures of communication and collaboration.
